Frequently asked questions
What is Just Cakin' It!, LLC?
We are Just Cakin' It!, LLC. The culinary academy we offer is Innovative Chef Academy.
Our mission is to inspire and empower families through the joy of baking and cooking. Founded by a devoted mother seeking a fulfilling career change, we believe that the kitchen is a place where memories are made and skills are learned. We bake with love, using only the finest ingredients to create delightful treats that bring smiles to faces of all ages. Our commitment to fostering a love for culinary arts extends beyond baking; our child youth cooking school offers hands-on classes that encourage creativity, teamwork, and confidence in the kitchen. We strive to create a warm and inviting environment where children can explore their culinary passions while learning essential life skills. Together, we’re not just baking; we’re building a community of future chefs who will carry the joy of cooking into their own families for generations to come.
At Just Cakin’ It, the safety, enjoyment, and growth of every student is our top priority. By enrolling your child in our cooking classes, you agree to the following policies:
1. General Safety & Supervision
All classes are supervised by a licensed culinary instructor with experience working with youth.
Students will be taught kitchen safety rules, including the proper use of utensils, stovetops, ovens, and small appliances.
Safety equipment (e.g., aprons, oven mitts, hair ties) will be provided and must be worn as instructed.
We are not liable for accidents, injuries, or allergic reactions that occur despite reasonable safety measures (see Liability Waiver).
2. Parent/Guardian Presence
Ages 3–6 (Mini Chefs): Parent/guardian must remain nearby (within 5 minutes of the class location) during the session.
Children in this age group must be fully potty trained.
For safety reasons, behavioral outbursts, meltdowns, or repeated disruptive conduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from class without refund.
Ages 7–15: Classes are drop-off; parents are not required to stay unless otherwise stated.
3. Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
We cannot accommodate food allergies or substitutions at this time.
Parents must disclose any allergies or medical conditions on the registration form BEFORE the first class.
4. Student Conduct
Students must follow THE instructor'S directions at all times for safety.
No roughhousing, running, or unsafe handling of tools or ingredients.
Disruptive behavior may result in immediate dismissal from class without refund.
5. Illness Policy
Please do not send your child to class if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious illness.
Students who become ill during class will be sent home immediately.
6. Cancellations, Refunds & Make-Up Classes
Class fees are non-refundable once booked.
Credit toward a future class may be given if cancellation notice is received at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.
Each student may receive a credit for a missed class up to three (3) times total during their entire academic cooking experience with us—no exceptions.
7. Photography & Media Release
Photos and videos may be taken during class for marketing and educational purposes.
Parents must indicate on the registration form if they do not consent to their child being photographed.
8. Late Pickup Policy
Students must be picked up promptly at the scheduled end time for their class.
A 5-minute grace period will be given.
After the grace period, a $1 per minute late fee will be charged to the parent/guardian.
A bill will be sent via email for late fees, and payment must be received before the student may attend the next class.
9. Liability & Assumption of Risk
Parents/guardians acknowledge that cooking activities involve the use of heat, utensils, and ingredients that carry inherent risks.
By enrolling, you accept full responsibility for your child’s participation and agree to sign the Just Cakin’ It (doing business as Innovation Chef Academy) Liability Waiver, which also covers the owner/instructor and any class assistants/helpers, prior to class.
